Why Did You Decide to Become a Virtual Assistant
This is a question that a lot of aspiring VAs often skip. Some people are just in it for money and then they wonder why they end up failing. The thing is, being a virtual assistant is just as hard as any other job. Sure you can stay at home but that does not mean you can laze around all day then expect your pay after.
So stop what you are doing right now and take a moment. Try to determine why you became a virtual assistant. Is it for financial freedom? Or is it because you are a mom and you want to stay at home with your baby? Doing something for the wrong reason may lead to despair.
One of these so-called “wrong” reasons is being a virtual assistant for money. Doing the entire job just to fill up your purse will only be bothersome if the money does not come in as quick. You will also lose the determination once the pay does not suffice and your client may think twice of hiring you again because you do things so quickly but forget about the quality.
The second “wrong” reason you can have is that you are in the virtual assistance job for the relaxation. While it is true that virtual assistance can bring your job to your home, it is, by no means, a job for the lazy. In fact, you may exert more effort than you are giving in your day job.
Another “wrong” reason you may have is that virtual assistance is a no-brainer job. It will be easy for you only if you love doing it. But it will require that you learn about new skills so that you can serve your clients better.
So are you in the virtual assistance job for the wrong reasons? Then I suggest you think twice lest you want to see yourself failing and wondering why no one has hired you.
